Anne holds a bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. It was her interest in the medical field combined with her love of helping others that first lead her to become a part of the Why Weight family.
Originally hired as their office operations, purchasing, and compliance manager, Anne would often be found assisting in front-end office duties along with assisting with a variety of medical tasks as needed.
Anne currently lives in Warner Robins, Georgia with her Husband and Sheltie puppy.
Her role in the company may have changed greatly over the years however, it is her gentle and warm personality that offers a welcoming touch to all of our patients.
I am originally from Kentucky, but my love for the outdoors and sunshine drew me to Colorado after I obtained a Bachelors degree in Education. Soon after moving to this beautiful state I joined the Why Weight Team with Dr. Salter in 2019 as a Medical Assistant and Certified Verju Laser Technician. Through working with Dr. Salter I have learned the importance of taking care of ones body and mind and how to establish trust within to maintain health and happiness.
In my leisure time, I enjoy exploring the mountains with my pup Indi, having random adventures with my fianceé, and spending as much time as possible in the sun, whilst reading from my favorite novels. I am excited about everything there is to learn as a staff member of Why Weight and happy to be a part of this awesome work family.
Jennie is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. Her role is to help people meet their health goals through food and behavior modification. She has over 10 years of experience working with various diabetes programs, non-profits organizations and other hospitals all around Alaska. Her favorite thing about being a dietitian is working with people and their family.
Jennie graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science with a specialization in Human Nutrition in 2007. She did her Dietetic Internship at Loma Linda University in California. From there she took her first job at BBAHC as the Dietitian for the Diabetes program. There is where she found her passion for helping people prevent and control their diabetes with food. She received her Certified Diabetes Educator certificate (now known as Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist) while working at Southcentral Foundation. Although she enjoyed the convenience of living in Anchorage, Jennie always fancied the village life.
Jennie moved to Alaska in 2012. She fell in love with Alaska and has never left…Except for vacations. She lives in Chignik Lagoon with her husband, 2 daughters and their dog. She enjoys fishing, boating, gardening, and hiking. Jennie is excited to be back working for BBAHC, again.
