Stephen Hood - Your Why Weight Colorado Personal Trainer
A University at Buffalo graduate and former Navy Diving Medical Technician, I now specialize in finding exercise solutions for people who are trying to shed some weight and/or improve their overall health and wellbeing. As a Corpsman and Navy Diver I was fortunate to work and train alongside many amazing people in some of the top US military Special Operation’s units. The values I learned there, I now carry to my clients through my commitment to understanding their needs and goals and my sense of duty towards helping them to achieve those goals in a safe manner. I approach every interaction with honesty, integrity and my client’s best interests at heart. I am passionate about educating my clients throughout every step of the process with clear, concise, and easy to understand explanations and demonstrations, so they can make the most out of every training session. While I am knowledgeable and hardworking, at the end of the day when it is all said and done, I genuinely care about you the client and your well-being.
Although I've worked with Dr. Salter for four years, it seems like yesterday that I started learning the ropes of working in a medical practice. Each day is an incredible opportunity to learn from my boss. I've spent the majority of my career as a retail executive and it is gratifying to be part of a business and a team that is focused on one thing: helping people achieve their goals. We have amazing patients that we actually consider friends.
On a personal note, my sun, moon and stars is a Cairn Terrier named Declan. His antics and affection are just what the Doctor ordered! I love cooking for my friends, traveling and my weekly martini.
Anne is our billing and purchasing manager, and possesses a bachelor's degree in biology from CU Boulder. Anne performs front office duties as well as medical tasks as needed. Anne's gentle and warm personality offer a welcoming touch for our patients.
I am originally from Kentucky, but my love for the outdoors and sunshine drew me to Colorado after I obtained a Bachelors degree in Education. Soon after moving to this beautiful state I joined the Why Weight Team with Dr. Salter in 2019 as a Medical Assistant and Certified Verju Laser Technician. Through working with Dr. Salter I have learned the importance of taking care of ones body and mind and how to establish trust within to maintain health and happiness.
In my leisure time, I enjoy exploring the mountains with my pup Indi, having random adventures with my fianceé, and spending as much time as possible in the sun, whilst reading from my favorite novels. I am excited about everything there is to learn as a staff member of Why Weight and happy to be a part of this awesome work family.
